I have an old d100, and honestly, not worth it except for the novelty. Not perfectly balanced, and takes forever to finally settle on a number.
Plus you can get d10's in more than the standard 1's and 10's. You can get them in 100's, 1000's, 10000's and so on.
With this set...
you can roll 1d10000000 to 3 decimal places.

I don't recall exactly when the d100 first came out...late 80s? early 90s?
Everyone in my group got one
And we used them exactly once
For the exact reason already stated...they take forever to stop rolling and would sometimes find their way off the table as a result
I still have mine in my large box-o-dice

Yeah, the earliest I think I remember seeing a D100 was like 1990. As everyone has already said, useless. I have some dice from around then that are a pair of matched D10s. One is labeled 1-10, the other 10-100, “percentile dice”, essentially. Much better.
The D30 is legit, but doesn’t have a lot of uses in TSR stuff.

The Armory had a book of random tables to go with their d30 which came out sometime in the 80s(?)
I had that book at one time
I think the first time I saw a d30 required for a game was Tales from the Floating Vagabond
