Are we talking car only garage setup, external decorating type stuff, or is man cave stuff included? I myself am slowly turning a shambles, into a place to hangout and/or tinker on my far to long back burnered project car

I wish my garage had a pedestrian door. Doesn't have a good spot to add one either. It'd save wear and tear on the garage door openers.

I'm with you same issue, it would have been easy to address during construction but no lets save a couple hundred bucks on a $400K + house and not install one or make provisions for one.

Just moved in recently, but I intend to add an epoxy floor, viny wallbase sealed ~8" up so that I can pressure wash the floor, small workbench for automotive work, small tool chest for automotive tools, shelving for dry storage, air compressor station with hose on a retractable reel, and - maybe someday - a battery bank for the house for a solar panel array. If I didn't have a low clearance issue, I'd seriously consider installing a hydraulic lift.

Trying to decide if I want the chemical cabinet in the garage or in the basement... jury is out on that one, but leaning basement with external vent.

I got lucky and most stuff was already done when we moved in. Things I like - windows, side door, insulated garage doors, retractable extension cord, retractable air line, hooks for bikes, refrigerator, small tv, LED lights, and a heater that I still need to run gas line to.

Lots of this stuff isn’t necessary but thought it might help you brainstorm.

you mean the storage room attached to the house with the one big vertical sliding door...? the room that no matter how hard i try and keep clean, always ends up eating my power tools and supplies...? The room responsible for me having multiple electric planers, multiple manual planers, multiple sanders, and multiple of everything else since i start a project and can never find the tool im looking for and go out and buy another so i can complete the project just to find the original tool had fallen at some point in time and somehow rolled under the work bench? THAT room?

I spent 4 hours in mine the other day, just shorting and re-stocking the shelves with the items that belong there. I'm terrible about putting my damn tools away and it's the most annoying thing I know about myself.

by "finish" what i think you mean is starting 3 different car projects and never finishing them. you wont need to "finish" the garage then.

haha My wife and I have an 11 month old baby and i wanted to finish the garage , insulate it, have electrical outlets, garage door openers, work bench, tv etc. so we can store away stuff and have the baby's toys in the garage without getting grimey. plus have the option to pull our cars in (if we have enough room). lol

What do you guys do for shelves? I'm thinking about building some with 2x4, all the metal ones are either very expensive or shit.

I've got so much crap from our move on the floor and no vertical space yet. It'll be such a nice workspace when I can get to it.

Do you have open rafters? If so the rafters make some nice storage space with a little plywood.

There is attic space, the garage is drywalled and insulated. I have some stuff up there already, but nothing that will hate the heat.
