    Aerocatch hood pins!

Finally got off my ass this weekend and installed a hood and aerocatch hood pins!! Would have used factory latch, but I had to remove it to fit a radiator. Plus, I don't really trust it on an aftermarket hood. Was really not wanting the traditional silver pins with R type cotter pins or quick release pins. Friend recommended aerocatch. They are nice and clean and low profile. Tried to angle the latches to match the lines on the hood. I think it turned out great!! Click image for larger version

Do you have the required mullet, and treble heavy 80's hair band music blasting when driving down the road?

looks so much better than the pegs and cotter pins. and good job keeping it black to match the car. Most people would do chrome.

(is that front tire on backwards?)

You'd think so, but the direction of rotation says that's the way it's supposed to go haha

              weird, but ok. lol
cant argue with the manufacturer of the tire...

i had a C4 with the cheap hood pins. the previous owner did a pretty shitty job on the install and i never really used them. since the hood opened to the front, i usually just drove the car without them. hitting a bump and watching the hood pop up freaked people out. lol

it was a beater corvette. wasn't fast but it was a ton of fun.

I've always wanted a c4. They look like a ton of fun with gears, good tires, and fresh suspension parts.

Was it an early C4? My 95 was pretty quick especially for it’s day.

it was a *cough* 84 *cough* with the *clears throat* crossfire *cough cough* engine.

one thing it DID have was torque and damn was that torque down low.

had to be one of the best ways to have fun in a car without breaking the speed limit.

leaving gas stations sideways, leaving 11's at stop signs, and just leaving a smile on my face.

the handling was pretty good and you really sat low in the car. made a good noise too. i really enjoyed that car and having fun with it. it was a beater and had fun in fields, rain, and just general shenanigans.

Nice job! Very clean install. I also appreciate the black color over making them pop. Subtle is superior to flashy imo.

Can and will. I wouldn't mount them that way if you intended to hit the highway in wet conditions. Since they're already mounted and presumably usable, may as well continue as you are until you've got about 50% tread life, then reverse them with a diagonal wheel rotation. It'll even out the wear and you'll get the most mileage out them.

I don't think putting them on the rear during a rotation is the best idea considering they are about 9 inches shorter than the drag radials haha. I'll probably just get some skinnies for the front next year. Never drive it in the rain because that would be most foolish of me.
