    New mill!

Super excited, just got myself a manual mill that's much, much bigger and heavier than my harbor freight benchtop.

Weirdly, can't find much info on it. Anyone know anything about these mills? It's a Menards DL300-140 drilling & milling machine.

I envy you sir. Been trolling craigslist for such a machine. Looks pretty perfect for the hobbyists.

I actually got it off CL from the same guy that I got my lathe from. He hardly used either, and it worked out really well for me last time.

Looks identical to my Busy Bee mill, not sure the model number.
I think mine is from the early 80's.

I got it for $750, and plan on selling on little mill for $500. So basically paying $250 after all is said and done for a much bigger, heavier mill. I'm happy with that.

Great price. Round column mills like that go for at $1500 around here. Does it use R8 collets?

Sure does! Which I have a full set of already. Sold the old mill today for the $500 too.

The guy I got it from said that he was seeing them go for 2k around here lately, but we're sorta friends at this point, and still was good with honoring the $750 we had agreed on earlier. I had even told her he could sell it for more to someone else if he wanted, but he stuck to his word.

Made some chips today just to run it, and it felt like the mill barely noticed the aluminum. AWESOME!!!
