    Dodge Sweptlines -1967, 1968, 1970

Classic cars/hotrods is my other expensive hobby. I have 3 Dodge trucks, two D100s (1967 & 1968) and one D200 (1970). I also have a 1970 Plymouth Duster. My D200 is my first project

Drove it back from San Fran up to Southern Oregon a year ago. Was going to be a nice driver while I built my D100, but it had a lot of hidden isuess that I didnt see. Has turned into a mild frame off build.

Long and short the 318 had two cyl that wert firing, was the distributor. Engine had been rebuilt, than sat for years and moisture got into it and rusted rockers, timing chain etc. Decided to just buld a stroked 360 (408). Then as I started addressing addressing some issues, I found more (rust), and it snowballed into a frame off build. Which is fine, it will give me good practice on doing body work and metal shaping.

    Goal:
-408 Stroker off 360 magnum block. (Assemble myself).
-Gas Tank Relocate under Bed. - DONE
-Front and rear suspension rebuild, soften and lower 3-4in.
-Remove surface rust from frame and paint it. - Done
-Patch rust on floor in cab (Driver & Passnenger, and rear cab mounts .
-Re-wire (American Autowire Highway 22 Plus kit).
-Dakota Digital Universal Gauges (VHX-1023 -K-R).
-Vintage air AC and Heater box.
    -Sterio system.
-Electronic power steering (out of Prius).
-Ford 8.8 Rear out of Explorere (Disc brakes, limited slip, 3.73 gears)
-Swap in D100 front axle to match 5x4.5 bolt pattern of rear. Disc brakes for front.
    -46RH Transmission (Rebuild myself).
-Clean up body work and paint.

I have a full build thread here: https://www.sweptline.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=45159

Yanked everything off the frame other than suspension. Have to clean, prep, and paint the front half of the frame. Cab, while it looks good, is a bondo-bucket. Picked up a parts 67 D100 this weekend down in Redding, CA. Going to use it's front axle, cab, fenders, hood, and grill. The 67 front end style is my favorite of all the sweplines.

Thats were i'm at so far. Egine and rotating assembly should be back from machine shop in a month. This is why most my paintball stuff is on hold, utalizing the good, albiet hot weather while it last. Hopefully over the next month I will get th is D100 stripped, my Ford 8.8 rear axle narrowed and rebuilt, front axle out of the D100 rebuilt, and all put under my D200 chassis. Then I can start on the few small rust spots on the D100 cab.

I love the late 60s-71 dodge trucks, would love to find a solid one to pair with my 93 w250 Cummins truck. Will enjoy following your build.

        As a New Englander:

I CANNOT express how jealous I am that there is zero rust on those desert rigs of that age. Buggies of this age in New England have almost all been sacrificed to the oxidation gods long ago.
