It’s a Bonafide EX123 fishing kayak. These boats are designed to be light enough to car top (only 50 lbs.), ride shallow enough to get into places many larger boats can’t go, and stable enough to stand up in and fish safely. They also have enough storage space to setup a whole campsite for a weekend trip (the EX stands for expedition). There really aren’t any other fishing kayaks like it - especially a sit inside. The hull has a hybrid catamaran design allowing you to even step into it from a dock without flipping. It's a lot like their sit on top kayaks, but your center of gravity is even lower since your feet are below the waterline rather than several inches above it. Not only are these things stable, they're fast. The one I got is in what they call Top Gun Grey. Since I drive a sedan, portability is key. I want to be able to easily lash it to my car after work or on the weekends, fish, do some paddling, and bring it home without the need for a truck or a trailer.

Will do... just without the birdsnest

Hopefully the boat ships out tomorrow and is here in time for another weekend of fishing. The lake is pretty fished out right now, so it may be me with a ***eating grin just holding a bluegill. I did manage to catch a bass last weekend, but it was only a dink.

Try some different techniques. I guarantee you the lake isn't fished out. It's a tough lake to fish because there is a lot of food for the bigger fish and I do mean A LOT. Topwater lures in the upper end in the evening can be a lot of excitement. Try trolling some spinners behind at 40 or 50 feet. Slow paddle and the trout will slam it.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll try that. If you ever want to hit the lake sometime, let me know.

I've received word from the freight company that the new boat will be here on Monday. I've got most of my accessories lined up and ready to go for when it gets here. Eventually, I'll probably install a few other things like an anchor trolley, a fish finder mount, and a transducer arm.
