Hi guys, I've been gone for a hour minute since tapatalk isn't working right now but wanted to share a family trip we did in August that was a blast.
We went to long beach Washington for the annual Washington State international kite festival. It's billed as the largest kite festival in North America or at least West of the Mississippi. Whatever the size is it's pretty large. It's a week long and a ton of fun IMG_20260817_101847156_AE.jpg this is our new kite. It's big, 13 feet wide and with the extra ribbon tails on it, from the tip of the kite to the end of the longest tail is about 95 feet. For reference the small spin sock below the jellyfish is 3 feet long. It was such a joy to fly and looked great all week long

They do these events called mass ascension events, basically show up to the main event field with a certain style of kite and fly with everyone else. If you participate you get a cool collectable pin (and the pins are nice, metal and Enamle) my oldest asked if we could fly the large kite for the Delta event since it's a Delta, I cleared it with the organizers and they said yes just anchor it like you should. I didn't know this but after the organizers pass out all the pins on the field they go to the back and talk to each other and pick out 10 kites to be their favorite. Those 10 flyers get a special golden version of the event pin. So my daughter managed to get a 1 of 10 gold pin this year all for her idea to fly the big kite.

Night kites! They are so fun and unique and an absolute highlight each year. The colors all move and shift through the kites they are not static

My wife and girls with me. My little piece of paradise
