X-Radar Chronograph - Indoor Use Experience

Checking on people experiences with X-Radar chronograph used indoors. It would be great to chronograph the markers before heading toward the field, a lot less setup work that way.

How far does the X-Radar chronograph need to be away from a wall to get an accurate reading?

I saw on YouTube that the Planet Eclipse production tester looks like it just needs less than a foot (link below, 3:45 mark).

Id like to know too. When i do eventually buy a X-radar chrono, how do i use it to get correct measurements? And do i need to do any adjustments or calibration to get it reading out correctly.

Seems to work fine across the length of my basement ~30ft. No adjustments it just needs enough room for the radar to register the paintball in flight. Not sure what that distance is though.

We used to chrono our guns indoors using an X-Radar. We found you need an approximate distance of around 8 ft, IIRC.

Well I learned something new today. Didn't know big reds needed a space cushion for accurate readings. Granted, I only recall using them outdoors.

I recommend one of these with a 8" PVC elbow and short section of 8" PVC pipe feeding down into a 5gal bucket that you empty before it gets full. Best to put a little flap over the entrance of the PVC elbow to prevent back splash. If the PVC is too big/expensive - shooting into another 5gal bucket that has a hole cut in the side and bonded to the pvc drain pipe works even better. More work, though.
