I just really like paintball equipment. Its fun to understand how something works and appreciate a gun that comes together very well. It doesn't cost much money to do it because the stuff is all pretty cheap relative to any other hobby. r

I got my start back in the mid-90's when a guy at work was organizing a team building game. I played mostly walk-on for a while and attended a few scenario games up at EMR and Skirmish. This went on up until shortly after my daughter was born in late '99 and money needed to go towards more important expenses. Shortly afterward, I stowed my gear up in the attic for nearly ten years and I really didn't think too much about it. Then, back in 2013, Lurchness Monster told me he was starting a rec team and asked if I wanted to get back into the game. Of course I said yes and that's when I got to know his brother Flounder and many of the other people who would go on to become The Expandables (Formerly Hansbury's Horde). It's really those guys who keep me interested in playing. If I were back to playing walk-on games by myself, I probably would have stowed the old gear away again a long time ago. I use paintball as more of a reason to socialize and have a good time with friends than anything. I'm also a tinkerer at heart, so I spend more time playing with my gear on a workbench than I do actually playing with it on a field. For me, actually playing paintball has always been secondary to the social and mechanical elements to the game.
