My old style CP Direct mount on/off is not degassing when I unscrew the knob. It works but just as a standard ASA now with no on off function. Anyone know what might cause this? I’ve read it’s rebuildable but I don’t know what part to replace
Hopefully yours is like this one. If so, remove it from your gun and remove the mounting screws from the ASA.
Use needle nose pliers to grab the brass plate, twist and pull to remove it. Once it’s out, you can remove the pin and the other brass part. You’ll need a -005, -011, -017 oring.
Clean all the crap out of the body and brass pieces. Dig out the 017 oring in the body, you can barely see it in the back in the body, above. After replacing the orings, remember the orientation of the small brass piece the 011 oring goes on, dished part goes over the pin shoulder. Grease and reassemble, put the adjuster all the back/off position so you don’t poke your finger when you pop that front brass piece on. Hopefully that helps.
any idea what to do if the pin won’t retract with the screw? If i have to use a heat gun to remove the on/off knob I’ll probably offer it for free to anyone who wants it
