do revvy impellers make a difference?

bought a used 18v non x board revvy off a member. has the factory "flat"? impeller. 4 blades but just basically sweeps the floor of the hopper.
in yall's experience, should i grab a newer style tall impeller or tsunami impeller off ebay? or just run the stock?
    thx

What are you going to use it with? I have the 18V with standard impeller as a backup and it keeps up with my electronic guns on ramp for bursts. When I use it with my mech Autococker, it keeps up just fine too.

I can only speak to what I now assume is the "old style" impeller (circa 2004ish) and the JMJ impeller. I think it did make a slight difference, particularly on really hot days. Difficult to say, though, and I certainly don't remember any test results. It's tough to compare when agitation of the gun plays a large role; i.e. gravity fed systems. I have both kicking around and some paint if you want test results that do not include marker induced agitation.

I've used both and can't really tell a difference. I just run JMJ impellers to flex on the old school dudes. Same reason to run the mirror lenses in JT's.

The issue with the Revolution is that they added the electronics before they perfected the idea of a passive loader. So its a band-aid on a flawed design. You can improve the band-aid more easily than the hopper itself however in almost any circumstance (ie: when the gun is mounted motionless in a vice) the completely passive Gog "multi caliber" hopper that is $8 at Action Village right now will out-feed any Revolution, especially after its half empty. Its almost magical how fast that thing is.

I got a Revy back when I was outshooting my VL75 with a pump. The Revvy fixed this, but so would have the Gog if that level of design had existed at the time.

I've used most of the impeller designs and the tall stock one seems to have a slight edge, although I've never had an issue with any of them.

Oh snap. What is this new magic? How's it work? (I'm trying desperately to come back from retirement and there are so many new products...)

There is no magic. They simply spent time developing a good shape instead of just building a hollow plastic football with a drain in it.

This guy figures is roughly 11bps.
