i know i probably sound really dumb, but i'm actually serious

am i just crazy for wanting a 12 round tube to refill a 12 round feed on my pump? i haven't paintballed in like 15+ years

maybe i'm posting in the wrong forum or maybe i am just asking a ridiculous question lol

edit: a 10 round tube like the picture, but just in a 12 round size

I’ve honestly never heard of them. 12 round feeds are meant to be loaded by 10 round tubes so that you can reload before being completely out of paint. You’re on the right forum too. If there’s one style that MCB is known for, it’s pump. That’s not to say they don’t exist though.

When I used to rock an apoc spring feed I had this mad scientist idea of making .68 cal 15 round tubes. I tried hacking up a 10 rd tube and smooshing it and it was kind of functional, but the structural integrity did not make me comfy

I assume we are talking about a Nelson/rock forward style (Phantom for example) in which case I use a 13 round feed tube.

I reload 10 at a time. The real advantage to the longer feed is being able to reload before the only shot you have is the one in the chamber. This would be lost if you increased the size of the tube you are carrying to reload with.
THe slots on the side let you see paint in the feed. If you don't see paint you reload. No worries about if the whole 10rnds will fit or if you are wasting paint that is going to fall out because it didn't fit

I tried 15 for a while. That made the back of the gun a little long for me. 12-13 seems just right but it's personal preference.

There was some serious talk about a year ago maybe, about creating a non-10 round tube (specifically a 15 rd tube). Paintzapper was one of the gentlemen involved in hunting down material, etc... I think it came to a stop though.

Oh boy, this project again!

From what I remember of my research, in order to make a viable 12 to 15 round tube we will need to look into injection molding. There is a facility a stone throws distance away from me that specializes in low runs and could most definitely do it right, but the start up costs for creating the mold is between $2,000 to $5,000 (from my understanding) and then we have to get them made.

Using existing tubing material is a no go. Either each tube will be $10 to $30 each, too brittle, just the wrong size, too heavy, and/or 3d printed (not great fur durability).

Can it be done? Yes.
Will it be cheap to get started? No.
Am I still interested in doing this? Yes, but now isn't a good time. Already sacrificing sleep to do what I need to get done now.

Seriously though, a 15 round tube would be perfect for my double barrel phantom with quadpheed. If anything, I would just do it for myself when the time comes.
