I was given 20 of these last year and ended up scrapping all but 2. 2 of them were chopped and used a brace in a modification on a John Deere 644 loader bucket. We had run out of stock and wanted something more beefy than angle iron. It was a much shorter drive to my house then to the nearest place that sells steel.
The 16oz rounded tanks, and the old school 'ball' tanks may have a wee bit of value just due to nostalgia, but honestly the wee tanks are the only ones that actually retain their worth.

Most "true" Chromoly tanks have no limit to service life. To be sure look up the DOT number but then again Mr. Hick has most likely the best use for them.
That's the only reason I asked if there was still any value. My understanding is basically anything steel under the 2x2 rule is exempt. But I do remember reading about certain numbers that don't fall under that rule.
