hey yall - a few years ago I started collecting serial numbers for autocockers and matching what the owner said and cross referenced this against the features that were added over the years. I hosted this info on scroadkill.com and teamsection8.com .. and now it is here.

If a mod would please consider sticking this for future reference... - thanks.

Sniper 1 1/2 --- 2108 - 2524 --- Early 1989 --- If it's over #2100 then they will have the sniper II body. They used up the Sniper 1 stock (so the #2100 - 2500 is more or less a sniper 1 1/2, after that they were true sniper II's. Joelrf600r: "a 1.5 is the nickname for the transition guns that didn't have all the sniper2 features, but had the extruded sniper2 body. They essentially have the extruded body, but still have the sniper1 style bolt/block combo. some of them have the sniper1 pump, others have the sniper2 pump. i don't know what the number range is for them." 2524 looks like a 1.5

I'll poke Thumper and see if he still has the source table. I know he was keeping up with new info while he was still playing (circa 2014) both my link above and OpusX's post I know are out of date from what John had in his records. I'll twist his arm up behind his back and get the info maybe we can make a more up to date table that can be hosted.

Got an on-topic question for this. Found an old Sniper, serial number 2577, which is right near the cut off from the "Sniper 1.5" to the "Sniper 2" category. But it sure seems to look like a 1.5 to me.
Angle'd bottom grip frame with no screw holes. UMB mounted wire stock. Came with both the Sniper 1 and Sniper 2 square style back blocks.




So, is it a Sniper 1.5, early Sniper 2, or just a mishmash of stuff?

Fubarius, you Sniper does give the appearance of a Sniper 1.5 so maybe the table needs some adjusting. The table Thumper put to gather was based on input and recollections of the paintball community at the time so none of the ranges are written in stone. WGP did not make or distribute in a firm FIFO (First In First Out) manner so there are especially in the transition between Sniper I and Sniper II a curious mix of configurations. The actual designation of Sniper 1.5 is not a Bud Orr thing but a way for us to signify that fluid change period.
