Anyone know how to work with electronics?

I picked up this Interceptor with the knowledge that the solenoid was weak/didn’t consistently work. I’d get a few good shots in a row and then a couple chuffs then it would start shoring again.

so I got on the google and looked up what solenoid it takes and had one shipped over. This is where things get weird.

the one that was in there looks like the one above.

the one I ordered looks like the one above

the one in the manual looks like the one I ordered

So I know what you’re thinking.

“Pop the new one in there and see if it works, dummy.”

the problem there is that old one is wired into the clip thing with the eyes and whathaveyou, while the new one has its own clip. As seen below

the noid wires are the two black ones on the right.

so the question is, how do I plug this thing in?
can I pluck the wires out of the clip on my new noid and plug them into the old bracket? Can I snip off the portion of the bracket I don’t need and plug in the remaining chunk and my new noid separately?

Pop em out or nip em off. To match the black plug you need different plugs, and you need a crimper. You can get a whole kit of pins and I think you can get a kit with a cripmer and pins for like 50 bucks on amazon. Ill look it up later.

That being said. On one hand, I have said crimper, pins, and plugs male and female. and I could help, on the other, I have a gen 1 timmy that could use that noid, sooo..... it wont work..

Lol, get your booty out to splat tag for GBG, and Ill bring the kit. We can re crimp your solenoid there. For nothing.

Awesome! September 26th is now on my calendar. There’s a bunch of these on ebay, we can see if mine works, or you can have the old one and see if it works better in yours.
