Fixing a guy’s Piranha R6 and his orings are just slime. Replaced all the o-rings but the hammer needs a different sized o-ring. What size does it need? Or do I have to track down some strange specialty o-ring? Marker does not properly cycle at the moment.

I'm pretty sure it's still an 015, it's just that on piranhas they seat the ring more on the front face of the hammer instead of around it. It's been a while since I've rebuilt one though, but try a 015 and 016, the wrong one will be too tight or too loose

Neither an 015 or 016 work. Gun fails to recock. Going to try and 017 next and see what happens.Comment

Dry firing. Tried the 017 o-ring and it's way too big. I'll try to use paint and see if that changes things. Was using a regular tank but it was getting low so switched to a SHP tank with 2K air left and no different. Shot, but wouldn't recock.Comment

Yeah that's not an o ring issue, that's a piranha issue
High input pressure (co2 preferred) and put a barrel swab down the barrel.
My personal theory on why is that the hammer is larger than it needs to be requiring both a higher volume and pressure of air to reset. Using a barrel swab or paint helps by creating back pressure in the upper tube

Also you might want to check that the valve is in the correct direction (large hole forward) most of us have done that at some point and the results are largely the same

Flipped the valve, now leaks. So thinking I had it in the right way. I’ll switch in a Spyder hammer and hope it worksComment

Flipped the valve the proper way, swapped to a stock looking spring and same issue. I’ll try a black spring next. But thinking it’s air getting past the hammer causing it not to recock.Comment

Also, take the front block off and blow through the asa by mouth, see if there are any restrictions, I've run into that before

Black spring made no difference, nor did trying it with paintball. Sounds like my hammer is bouncing on the valve, like when air is running out, but not enough to recock the valve. Spyder hammer won’t work either, different shape entirely.Comment

May want to look at the edge of the rear sear, should be square and sharp, when there slightly worn they will not catch the hammer and stop it,causing the hammer bounce you mentioned. Check the sear and the hammer, if they look rounded, lightly dress the edges with a file till they are square and sharp. This may solve your problem.Worth a look.Comment
