    Aluminum Fittings/ NPT Elbows?

When you run out of things to do...

Looking at replacing the old classic nickel-plated elbow fittings on a mag with anodized aluminum elbows.

I'm sure they're fine for 850psi, but just want to make sure if anyone has had any issues. The ones I'm looking at are 6061, just wanted to know pros/cons.

    Thank you.

I have used the CCM and Nummech ones without issue.
The CCM are a finer product.

They'll be more likely to gall. Use a lubricant like threadlocker or teflon paste.

        What's the difference?

Just design really. Nummech uses all 010 orings in their fittings while CCM uses different sizes.

If you're talking about those anodized aluminum 1/8 elbows that you would thread steel braided line into, they tend to be leak prone as they are pivot elbows with an O ring in between and the O ring is usually old by now. I don't know if there is a way to replace it as I think they're pressed together.

I've seen those made by extreme rage and avoid those, I'm certain they are deteriorated by now as well.

The ones I ordered are fixed anodized aluminum, 6061.

I've been looking for something like those forever, and can't find anything that's a reasonable cost or form factor.

I contacted nummech suggesting making some based on their banjos and heard nothing back. Also contacted a local store that does some fabrication and they were interested but had too much on their plate.

Where have you found anodized elbow fittings? I would really like to get some color matched elbows for several of my older markers, where I prefer braided hose.

Also - I wholeheartedly agree that the Extreme Rage elbows are to be considered broken out of the box. Should anyone figure out how to rebuild them, I'm all ears.

I bought these, but I'm a hesitant to air up my automag with them. I'm running 900psi tank output, I can't find any accurate pressure rating for these.

                      They are 6061 aluminum

Over on mcmaster, there's similar later at 500psi:

                        Anyone ever use aluminum elbows?
