Bore drop stock class Nelson to replace my phantom?

    Hello MCB,

I'm looking for a bore drop Nelson (Ideally a bore drop phantom).

I want stock class feed, open class conversion option would be great ...

The Laptop Spirit I believe is a bore drop? Any other options out there?

    Thanks y'all,
    X

Laptop guns are awesome! Sorry I couldn't help it.

Mostly the older ones I think. Some of the Carter Nelson's were boredrop if I remember right.
      Empire Tracer is an option.
      Reblines?

Best bet is a bushmaster or a traccer or maverick really for boredrops.

The grey spirit is a bore drop but fixed barrel so I dunno what advantage you're seeking but it isn't going to do much for you versus a breech drop gun when it has a fixed barrel.

          OH Yes! Bushmasters! Great guns.

I can't help but ask. Why are you looking to replace the Phantom?

I have an early (fixed barrel & nelspot frame) bushmaster that I removed the feedneck, added spring loaded detent and phantom sc feed it's one of my favorite Nelson.

One of the big reason for bore (correction from breach) drop is for spring feed, they tend to do much better with a tighter diameter where the ball drop ...
Phantom are nice and have to of great features and options, but sometimes I feel like they are lacking a bit of character/personality ...

(Please don't shun me ... I'm a brass/sheridan guy at heart, and my favorite Nelson will always remain the Vector and ATS)

You mean Bore Drop, right? Meaning having the ball drop into the bore means that the next ball above (and under spring pressure) does not drop down as far, to then have to be pushed back up and out of the way by the bolt, which can be harder on paint. I love spring feeds, but that has always been a concern for me as well with my breach drop Phantoms.
Although with a bore drop and springfeed, an effective anti-double feed Detent is even more critical.

“One of the big reason for breach drop is for spring feed, they tend to do much better with a tighter diameter where the ball drop ...”
