If you come up with a price, I'm interested. I've wanted to make a solid-brass 'Cocker body for years. Like, prior to actually having a threadcutting lathe, years.
Yup, if you sweet talk Craig I expect you can still get one made under $1300 new so I think you got it there <$1200 and highly dependent upon finding someone who wants one to determine final price.
I guess the question is how much is the body worth? A new one from PPS is just shy of $1300 (plus wait time) but a regular midblocked cocker like a Black Magic with the same parts is probably only worth 6-800.
Blazers are like $1000 brand new and usually go for like $300 used. Same with strokers or other PPS semis. This doesn't have the issues endemic to the rest of the PPS lineup though, so that might help it retain value.
The reason why most PPS Semis lose a significant amount of money in the resale market is because most people cannot service them themselves (IMHO) and sending the gun out to Palmers every few years gets extremely pricey... Considering this is just Fancy Nancy Cocker I don't expect most owners would worry about rebuilding it themselves.
The lance is a billion times rarer than the entire rest of the PPS lineup, and very special compared to any budget cocker. A rezzy would be a good cheapo comparison for 350 dollars but this isn't that. That's like comparing a 2000 dollar evolution x to a stock 2k cocker.
but maybe 1200 is a little high. They never come for sale so it's anyone's guess.
The frame does kind of let it down. It's an incredibly unique gun with a freakin trilly frame. Definitely would go for more with a Benchmark slider or Dye single hinge frame.
Yup, they take any standard Autococker Frame (you might have to do some tweaking to the timing but should not be a big deal). Craig was nice enough to build in the adapter rail into the lower tube assembly.
You can always ask what you paid for it! If it sits just drop the price! Good luck with the sale. These are totally neat. I'm sure the next owner will be a happy camper!
This would be fun to have. I need a new mechanical in my life for playing mech tournaments but would want a single trigger and preferably a slider. If you decide to sell after the holidays give me a howler (after you talk to Doc though he spoke up first). I was always intrigued by these when Craig was first talking/building them.
