Tippmann pro am ... But gun metal/grey?

Hello MCB,

Latest haul included a pro am with a twist ...
It has the case, front sight, documentation and original swabs (with the Tippmann oil bottle 😋). Hi, did I mentioned it look like it has never been used?

The shroud is broken, but I have a few prolite spares (they're a bit rough, but in 1 piece ...)

But here is the wired things: it is gun metal grey!
Does anyone have any information about this variant?
Also, it has a metal frame and bolt, but this might be normal/standard for the am?
Someone put a bit of white paint on the sights to make them more visible, but I don't think that's from factory ...

Proams were all grey as far as I know. Is the fore grip plastic? They were metal on most except the last ones out the door I believe.

they look black on Google image search ... So I thought that was a wired one ...

The natal frame has a nice feel, it might become the backup/loaner (if I find a modern barrel for it 😅)

still well worth the $10 i spent on it :P

Ill keep all the original goodies together and "sacrifice" an ex-rental prolite for parts. Should do a nice little backup/loaner.

Something about old tippmann's that make em look like serious pieces of hardware for a serious paintball game. Not exactly military but definitely industrial. Not like a toy.

I think the stock/rental 98 got me the wrong idea ...

Those pro/ams. So nice and reliable. Probably the most elegant and dignified of the lot, IMO.
