Trilogy springs

Hey guys, I bought a Trilogy Sport not too long ago. OK, I get it... it's not a REAL autococker and all that (I've had cockers before so spare me) but for my purposes it will do. I'm an old school baller that is just looking to get out on the field and keep it as cheap and simple as I can.

OK all that noise out of the way...

I want to put an HPR on it, but I believe It needs to have lighter springs. There is a set of lower internals on eBay for the Trilogy "Pro" which had an HPR instead of a gas through grip. Is there a difference between the two sets of internals (Pro and Sport) or is it all the same on the Trilogy and they are just throwing hype with the "pro" moniker?

I don't believe the valve itself is different, but the springs are for sure. IMO you'd be better off getting a good 11/16 valve (ID, CCM, AKA, etc) and respring it. paintball gateway has low pressure valve springs for trilogies. You could probably just respring the existing valve too.

Also, I was a professional cocker tech for about 8 years. I've built, tuned, or otherwise shot some really really nice cockers over that time. My trilogy has always been just as good if not better than them. My trilogy will be with me until the day I die.

As far as the springs and valve go, I went to PBG and found the LP exhaust spring:

I'll find an 11/16 valve (That shouldn't be too hard) but does it use the same valve spring as the autococker?

As for the trilogy itself, No hate for it on my end I assure you. Just letting any naysayers know up front I've already heard/read/seen it and I think it's a great marker. Especially once I got the trigger timing tightened up and shortened. It's light, fast... what's not to like?

That spring from pbgateway is the valve spring. They take regular autococker hammer springs.

The Sport was sprung for CO2, while the Comp and Pro were sprung for HPA. Can't remember if the internal volumes of the valve passages differ or whether it was just a matter of different springing. The Trilogy Comp I bought off a fellow member here a few months back has an Empire Sniper valve in it. I forget why he swapped it out, though. At any rate, I know those valves at least work in Trilogy bodies.

That strip and polish job turned out really well. Nicely done.

Valves are different between the comp (small c02 valve) and the pro and sport (regular lp 2k cocker style valve that works great)

the valve spring you can use a spyder main spring. The main spring you can use cocker main springs.

they take any of the large diameter cocker valves like Merlin valves or rezzy valves.

Got that a little backwards. The Sport is the HP gun that came in blue or olive, the Comp is LP with the black/red fade, pro is also LP with the weird purple/silver color.

Thanks man. I'm going to hit it again to get the mirror finish I was originally trying to get. I've got a few new tools for the job that will do a better job at the final finish. I did a B2K more recently and was really happy with the outcome.

Thanks man, labor of love. I;m going to rip it all apart again and get those lines out where my reflections is. It’s just… bugging me. I’ve got a few other spots that need to be cleaned up on the feedneck and the teardrops in particular. Going to be out of town for the next week but when I get back I’ll be working in that and talking to a machine shop about a possible run of 15 degree ASA’s for the B2K if I can get enough interest.

We’ll see.

Hahaha... I'll tell you what man, considering all the noise I read/saw/heard about them being terrible markers after I picked it up for $125, I can't figure out why. It shoots remarkably well and throws paint as fast as any other cocker I've shot. After 30 years of playing ball there has been quite a few of them.

I haven't played since the mid 2000's. I sold all my gear years ago (Shouldn't have done that) and now I am in the process or rebuilding my collection back to where it was. So far I have replaced:

my Autococker with a trilogy (It was a Blurple Sport)
My Bushmaster (The old one was silver. It was blue until I polished it. Still looking for a Zenitram 15 deg. ASA though)

I wouldn't mind finding a replacement for my Air Power Vector but that is Likely not going to happen. The few that I have found were either in horrible condition or they wanted prices that you would have to be an idiot to pay. (Seriously... $1300??)

I added a Azodin KPC pump to my stable so my buddies and I can play some old school ball like we did back in 1990 and finally, I added an impulse to my stable. I did that just because I had a buddy I played with years ago that had one and when I saw it Nostalgia got the better of me. I'm not complaining about it... 😄
