    Low air in tank = venting down barrel? (sniper/cocker)

    I can't recall the last time I shot a tank down to near empty on a sniper. With this SS-25, it doesn't leak when cocked. Pull the trigger and it endlessly vents down the barrel. Gauge read about 1k psi then of course went lower after venting a couple times. Thought I was running into other issues but maybe it's low air?

    Is this typical?

    No....

    Your sprung to hard and your pressure is too low.

    Start by retuning the lower tube and resetting your hpr outputs

      Those tank gages are terribly inaccurate. Sure it still had 1k in it. Shoot them completely empty it can vent.

        Let's say the tank actually had a bit less than the gauge reads and it's almost empty. Venting normal in that case then?

      If you cock it again after your shot, does it stop venting? How far is your IVG in?

        Yes anytime the hammer is cocker back, no venting. Only when pulling the trigger. IVG is about 2 turns.

        I need to just go get my tank filled and test this out again.

        so if you had a main spring that was exerting 2lbs of force more than the valve spring, you would need 215psi across 6 sq.mm to achieve equilibrium - this is a very simplified example - ignoring hammer weight, friction, pressure spikes etc..
