    ID 3-Way Issues

Trying to install an ID 3-way as an upgrade to my FBM cocker and running into issues.

First problem was the standard timing rod was too short, so I ordered a custom length one I need to cut down.

Now the new problem is it looks like the collar on the 3-way shaft hits my front block preventing the full movement of the 3-way. It severely limits the forward throw to the point where it looks like the 3-way will not work.

    Collar hitting front block:

For reference I have a stock WGP hinge trigger on a FBM body. Front block may be an Aim front block.

I had the same problem and that three way needs to be screwed in more that little bit sticking out the front should not be there and when it is all the way in the front of that will actually be recessed a little.

      2nding what jokers said.
At the forward part of the throw your 3-way spool generally should not protrude from the front of the assembly.

Thank you! I have an o-ring there and didn’t consider it would affect the 3-way’s timing rod.

Also, what should the resting position of the timing rod before the trigger is pulled? I set up my last 3-way easily, but it had an ID frame and that was just to make the rod flush with the front of the 3-way and minorly adjust it.

If I read right, you're running a WGP hinge, so the 3-way shaft moves forward when the trigger is pulled, right?

So at rest, you are setting it flush with the end, and when the trigger is pulled, it pushes out the front, right?

If thats the case, i would think it needs to be flush with the end when the trigger is pulled all the way, not at rest

Thanks, that is what I was thinking, but wanted to double check as I will need to trim my timing rod more.

And got it all up and running and you're right. Time it so the trigger pulled is flush with the end gave me near perfect timing!

Updated: The standard sized timing rod work fine, I did not need the custom length rod at all. Had the timing rod set flush to the 3-way when the swing trigger was held and gave me near perfect timing. As always, thanks for all the help!
