    Gloss ano question

Pretty sure I know the answer to this, but since its MCB and ppl are known to try stuff. Well i thought i would ask.

Has anyone tried to take gloss finish to dust by either doing a wet sand or steel wool? If so, how did it come out?

Kind of works with paint but in the case of anodizing the finish comes from the aluminum underneath.

If you're trying to degloss the finish, you could always try just spraying it with some flat or matte clear coat.

I've also been curious about doing it the other way around; spraying gloss onto a dust finish. It would probably work better the other way around though.

Oh did not even think of that, could be a good option.

I boiled an anno'd part once to loosen some loctite and I do think it lost some of its glossiness. Some of the dye came off on my hands.
