Where does the eye goes?

Hello MCB,

I'm guessing on the face ... Maybe ... But I'm not talking about this kind of eyes ...

I'm working on a e-bolt 98, and no electronic build is complete without eyes ... So now is the time to figure out where to put them ...
I remember curt and DocsMachine having some trial and error building the first eyed electro gun ... Id like to learn from them 😋

Any suggestions?
Or experience would be nice.

I know you want them really low in the chamber so the ball is pretty much touching the bottom before its allowed to pew.

There's some info out there from TAG on eye position - it's not going to be 100% the same, assuming you're working around a side feed, but it should get you an idea of what to do.

It is a side feed ... For now ... I have a clamping side feed I'd like to keep ...

AS low as I can is what I remembered, thanks for the confirmation.
Maybe I should put the eyes just above the detent?

Just make sure the detent doesn't trigger the eyes. The one time I drilled for eyes I made a line centered vertically where the ball rests and put my hole just above the bottom of the breech on the line.

What about reflective, like an eBlade eye? You could put it in the bottom of the breech or opposite of the feedneck.

I think the trick to getting break-beam right the first time is to go a little higher than the bottom of the breach, (~3mm to centerline I'd guess) then control precise timing by adding an adjustable delay.
