    Dye mini drop and asa

So recently got a dye minidrop and asa for a project. Got it on and together only to fond out the gauge on the tank hits the drop before the tank is screwed in enough.

its a ninja tank with its original gauge so it's not one of the huge old gauge.

Any suggestions or are there tiny gouges available?

Can we get a picture of the interference? Ninja has micro gauges depending on the vintage of your regulator there may be a smaller option. Otherwise, assuming this is a dovetail drop situation, Can you just slide the asa back a bit to clear? You could also get something like a regulator extender, a warrior on off asa, sp on off asa adapter, or gage port adapter would all likely offer the offset needed .

Yep, I would like to get a visual on this as well. Mainly to see what to possibly avoid, when I inevitably feel the need to setup a marker with Dye components.

Yeah I came across the same issue, if I remember correctly I had small gauges on there already, not sure if they were the smallest available.
I do have an regulator extender that has an off/on knob, it worked but did not like it. So I took them off and just used a regular drop.

I think FS has the smallest tank gauge on the market. You're obviously losing some accuracy though.

Those are pictures. yes i could slide the asa back some. As the asa currently is flush with the front of the drop but that is not nice.

A extender defeats why i went with this. I wanted to shorten the distance from frame to tank end slightly while slightly raising the gun into my siteline more.

The other possibility but much more pain in the ass is to pit the tank on and then slide the asa into place. But as i said pain in the ass.

Definitely a pain, but could you have a slightly too long piece of macro, loosen and scoot the asa back, screw the tank in, then put it in place?

I don’t see another good way around this.

edit: if it engages at the max you can screw the tank in, throw a tank oring in the asa to make some space for yourself.

You might be able to file a little bit of material on the bottom back of that drop where the gauge is hitting it. Since it's chrome, you wouldn't notice the raw aluminum too much. You can make it look pretty nice with a file too. Just watch a few YouTube videos about how to do it first.

As others have said, you can also buy smaller gauges like this:

View my feedback or read about my Virginia woodsball club.

Let me make you something. I build pneumags, auto-response frames, and wooden pill cases.

A smaller gage would help. Thats a normal gage. Vs a ninja micro gage you may have enough clearance to get by that drop.

Lastly. If you loosened the asa on the rail, you can slide it back a tiny but further to provide the clearance. Your front line wont be nice and flush, but it would work without buying any new components.

The solution is pretty obvious, gents... CO2. No pesky gauges to get in the way.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

No can do. Xvalved automags don't do well with CO2.

I have similar mini drop from Shocktech and only solution was to loosen set screw for ASA slide back, screw in, then move forward. It's not a big deal.

Not sure about Dye but Shocktech has a very small set screw to hold ASA which tends to loosen.

It does have a setscrew and sliding it is likely what I will do.

These were designed with longer regs in mind... Maybe get a reg extension

Nano gage or go with a reg extender/ different reg with a longer reg bonnet like a powerhouse.
