    Grip Panel Question

Will a standard 1911 grip panel fit a 2 hole 45* paintball frame? Something I should know, but sadly, I do not.

I’m looking for VERY specific grip for a CCM build and the only place I can find anything like it is a guy who does custom 1911 grips. (I already tried oDm — he was my first choice)

    Thanks

If the 1911 grips I've put on my stuff are any indication, yes.

    Thats why they're .45 frames, not 45° frames. 🙂
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Wow! I never realized it was .45 and not 45*

Granted, I know the grip doesn’t sit at 45* so I always wondered how they got the name. That makes A LOT of sense…

Yes I have many types of standard 1911 grips on many frames. Just make sure they are standard and not the Mini version.

Also pay attention to the thickness wrap around grips fit the thick 45 CCM frames but the thin frame ones you will need a printed spacer. Most all standard 45 panels fit all the CCM frames tho.

expanding on this , i'm pretty sure Hogue grips have technically been for the firearm market.....but found another market in paintball.

What I have never seen though conversely are Dye Stickies on a 1911 pistol! :P

Because you don’t want thick soft grips on a pistol. You can get away with it in paintball because there is no recoil. Dye Sticky on a 1911 would be terrible. I’m not against trying it tho for science.

Hogue Palmswell panels (model 45090) and wraps (model 45000) are in my opinion the best grips for paintball markers performance-wise.
I use the 45 palmswell panels on nearly every marker I own.

They are very grippy even when wet, and fill the hand nicely. They give you excellent control over what you are holding. There is variation in 1911 grips, you will generally want "Gov't Model" spacing. Each brand should list the hole spacing in their specifications.
Need Inception Designs or Shocktech Products? Let me know!

I suppose I ought to point out that we carry hogue products, which might influence my choices. But I was using them well before we started carrying them.

Search for 1911 grips... You will find tons of choices, with prices that vary from $15 to $500...

You will want ones that are for a Full, GI, or Standard 1911, not the ones for an Officers model.

Thanks for all the info, gents.

I’m after something very unique. I don’t want to spoil the surprise before I get them and complete this particular build. It’s a little off-the-wall and of course is probably going to cost me at least 1 kidney…but it’ll be worth it in the end.

Yes. I tried to put 1911 grips on my CVO. They fit, but didn't look good
