WTH is the second hole on ID hammer for? Can I use is for Micrococker?

I have a micrococker project I need a hammer for. I was supposed to get a hammer drilled and tapped for it, but it was a bust. I recently sold someone a Ressy with ID hammer in it. I took it out to check it and noticed there was a second hole in it on the bottom. My questions:

    1) What is that hole for?
    2) Can I flip this hammer over and flip the hammer lug upside down and use the second hole for the screw that cocks the backblock? I don't see why not...

its a universal hammer, so that means it can go in both mid and regular block guns, that spot is typically for a nylon setscrew that you can use to help keep the cocking knob from shaking lose

Furthermore you will want that nylon set screw to face down. The cocking slot should be on the top of the marker.

That will let you access the set screw through the slot on the bottom.

I Didn't realize that the hammer was universal for backblock cockers too. That makes perfect sense.

If the holes line up, I don't plan on using the nylon set screw hole, I plan on screwing in a cap head hex screw into that slot to contact the backblock of my micrococker to cocker it. I'll have to check it out tonight. I think it should work as long as the lug hole is not too far back.
