I purchased a 90/45 shp lite ninja tank on black friday this past year. I have no use for the shp regulator but i would like to take the regulator off and connect my angel air regulator to the ninja tank. do you think I will be okay doing this? I heard some horror stories about the threads stripping inside the bottle when the regulator was removed. What should i do? please help!

Threads stripping in the tank is extremely rare, and pretty much only happened when red loctite was used, or the reg was over torqued. Ninja don't use loctite, so you should have no problem, if you have the proper tools.I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget. -
We used to remove our regs by hand when flying to tournaments. Vice and strap wrench if it’s tightComment

The only other reason Id see threads stripping is if there's still pressure in the tank.
I did have one Gurella air 22/3k tank go on me. but I swapped to a ninja UL reg, and I believe I needed to swap o rings to match the GA bottles grove. I've swapped countless bottles around otherwise.Comment

Nitroduck used green Loctite, so these would strip pretty often... most companies know better than to use anything now.Feedback

I believe Guardian tanks also use some form of loctite. I heat them up a little with a hair dryer and that seems to work well. Never gets too hot. Swapped several ninja regs this way too. Only heat if the strap wrench isn’t working.
I also have a 3D printed reg removal tool I bought off a member it is makes things way easier. Highly recommended as it takes the hassle out of removing regs. Just pop the tool in the vice, put the bottle in and strap wrench it.Comment
