Online CAD Repository - ON YOUR PHONE!

So this is something I started last year, lost some steam when other stuff picked up, but I'm going to try to continue making an online repository of CAD files on Onshape.com.

There are some key advantages to this over other systems:
    • It's free
    • Anyone can access files you upload
    • You can access and manipulate models on your phone
I think this would be a good tool for both troublshooting on the field (section views on the fly) as well as teaching people how markers work if they're interested.

In order to do this, the files would be tagged with the following tags, "MCARTERBROWN", "MCB", "PAINTBALL", and then whatever specific marker ones, for a mag it would be "AIRGUN", "DESIGNS", "AGD", "AUTOMAG".

This would allow people to just search for MCB and find every marker we've put together, or the specific company for each company's markers, or the specific marker.

Any help would be appreciated. Help would either be sending me files that aren't on ZDSPB or uploading them yourselves and tagging them. I'm still in the process of migrating the knowledge that is out there into one system.

Let me know your thoughts or if you think this is completely unnecessary. I'll still do it, but i'll just go back to a slower pace if people are not excited about it.

Below is a snapshot of the tags and such I was mentioning.

I like the idea. Seems like a nice way to streamline information.

If you guys want to check it out, make a free account and search MCB. I would appreciate someone testing it out.

Its also all browser based, so no need to download anything unless you want to try it out on your phone, then you’ll need the app.

I just tried it out on the mobile app. It’s pretty cool and it seems to work really well for viewing stuff. I don’t know enough about cad to really test it out much though
