Autokicker Spyder Frame - Sear doesn't catch hammer?

    Hi Y'all,

Does anyone here know anything about those cool aftermarket spyder Autokicker frames?

I just bought one from on here, and although it is in fantastic cosmetic shape, when I installed it on m spyder to test, I immediately found that the sear does not catch the hammer, and I cannot cock the gun.

When I compare the sear height of the Autokicker frame , to the other kingman frames I have ( esp electro frame, xtra double trigger frame) , the sear height is noticeably lower in this frame.

Is the sear height adjustable on these frames?

Or do I maybe need a different spyder hammer? The gun I have is a spyder victor II, with the stock hammer. The other two frames I own have no trouble catching this hammer to cock the gun.

If anyone has any suggestion, that would be great!

    Thanks, M7

What's stopping the sear from going higher?

The design of the Autokicker frame itself. They were made at a time when only fatty strikers existed and are designed to that body style. The sear sits just a bit lower than the sear in a stock Spyder frame and the frame has an additional pin in it limiting post sear travel.

Well coincidentally, I have a fatty body and lower tube internals kicking around if you need one

1999 and earlier bodies will have fatty strikers. Bob Long Millennium bodies also have fatty strikers.

The Spyder One and the Compact 2000 were two of the earliest slim striker designs and classic grey bodies with one or two grooves at the breech always indicate slim strikers.

I think finding a BL Millennium will be the ticket ! I've always liked them.
