Evil Omen 1.5. - worth being a project marker?

Have a line on a cheap Evil Omen 1.5. Thinking about pick it up and seeing if I can get it running. How bad of an idea is this? Only think so know is the board powers on.

They are pretty simple, and as long as the electronics are working, you should be fine. People hate them, but I love them. They are super fun to play with. Just make sure every time you go to play you adjust the recock screw otherwise you are in for a bad time. Also, only use a gravity feed loader on the 1.5.

I wouldn't pay much for it though!

      Is your project a doorstop?

I think they're neat, which is why I have like six, but you have to be realistic about them. They can be quirky, but are pretty awesome when everything is going right. You should get it, as long as it's priced right.

It’s cheap. Also have the option of picking up a Raven Nexion with it.

Are those the FASORs or the fancy sear-trippers?

sear-trippers. Just another version of a Spyder. But I have a VS2 kicking around, so might be fun to build up a Raven and utter confuse people.

Yeah I picked one up a few years ago to rebuild and get working. I put a better (lighter) reg on it and it ripped. You'll just probably need to replace all of the orings. I have a line on some cup seals if you need one. A guy on PBN had Palmers make him a bunch. I had some back when the 2.0's came out and we really never had much trouble with them. We had 6 at one point and they would last all day and shoot at 20bps. I wouldn't pick up a 1.0 if it was free, but the 1.5 and 2.0's are fine.

Any easy way to tell between an Omen 1 and a 1.5?

No easy way that I remember. I found this old thread on PBN. It talks about the board settings and that the cam arms are different. https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=1373357 2.0's were easy because they had the shorter locking feedneck.

Do it. I think they are fun projects and have always liked the looks of the body. They make nice pumps as well.

The larger volumizer from the 2.0 is a great upgrade.

I also found this looking for the differences. Pretty cool pump.

That looks like one I used to own. If it is, it's missing half of the hammer. Ask for a picture of the hammer, make sure it's all there otherwise you'll be in the same boat I was.

Oh, that would suck. It’s out of Ontario and the guy says it’s been in his garage for years.
