You can put 3000psi regs on 4500 max psi tanks without doing anything, just remember to not fill past 3000.
Depending on the reg, swapping out the high side burst disc from 5k to 7k may be all you need to do to make your classic regs 4.5 capable.Comment

More about hoping to get some cheaper tanks…. Back in time you use to be able to get 3000psi tanks for 40-70 bucks cheaper than 4500 the the fiber wrapping wholesalers I use to use are extinctComment
