    Eblade noid cover question

I picked up an E2 frame and noid from a member here. I’ve never had an Eblade before. Is the noid cover supposed to screw on to front block like the 3 way. The one I’ve got doesn’t thread on. The threads on the front block are good. Wondering if the noid threads are junk. I’m able to push the thing all the way on the block, doesn’t seem right.Click image for larger version Name:	5067FD42-B10F-4A3B-960D-6795307329D4.jpeg Views:	0 Size:	3.56 MB ID:	327557

Yes it should thread into the frontblock. That hole is likely there because the previous owner had the same problem. Do not toss that noid housing out. I am literally looking at a solution to this at this very moment. Hoping to be cutting something tomorrow. I will try and remember to post back.

Thanks, I’d rather not toss it. I don’t really want to buy another one.

Didn’t kapp use a set screw on their front block threeway threads that would line up with that fairly well?

Well the threads are great on this one. Going to try and get this bored and cut a test piece before cutting the noid housing.

Thanks, Just trying to decide what size the inner hole needs to be. there isn't alot of material between the id of the threads and the id of the eblade bore. Think i may need to pick up a few to try.

so you cut the threads off the cover then threaded the inside and made a cool little adapter?

I took a piece of aluminum bored the inside cut and threaded the outside then cut it off. Then slide that piece over the eblade noid cover that I cut the threads off of.

I ended up having to make the threaded piece again, It was way too tight. Had to dial in the threads. I feel pretty good about this one though. I just need to loctite this one and see how it does assembled. Hoping to do that tomorrow and assemble this weekend.

What do you know about the settings or internals of that one? Kicked a little with single shots but once you anchored and ripped a few it didn’t move.

Clipped wires? Or some other mechanical failure(s)?

Narrow tuning window, broken wires, leaking, crushed noids etc.

Well, if I ever end up with another one I’ll send it your way if I want it to feel a little smoother.
