I always called the green mask a Woods Stalker(my first mask and I still have it 😆). The black mask is a AGD - Facemask(my second mask). PMI also sold the black mask under there brand. I think it was also called a wood stalker or something like that.
Bonus fun fact: I really stepped up my game with my 3rd mask a JT X-fire.
I first used the green mask with the cheap shop goggles that were included with my Splatmaster. Quickly upgraded to Uvex goggles and used them on the green mask, until I was able to buy the black mask and used Uvex goggles with it. One kid that played with our renegade woodsball group, used his Scott motocross goggles with his AGD/PMI mask.
Upgrading from the green ones to a low budget JT mask for rentals was probably the most noticeable upgrade I saw at fields during that time period. Increased safety of new players drastically, the safety goggles we used were like diving goggles.
It's worth noting that back in the day, UVEX threatened to sue anyone using one of their goggles for paintball.
Meaning any field using them as rentals, not, like, individual users.
They were not rated for paintball impacts- even in those days before standardized impact ratings- and UVEX had no interest in either making a paintball goggle, or modifying one of the existing models to work. (Their main product is lab and shop goggles- they're one of the worldwide leaders. Our little niche market isn't worth their time.)
As noted, the green one is a Woodstalk mask (or Woodstalker, I've seen it spelled both ways.)
The black one I've seen before, but can't positively ID. If it is one of the old AGD masks, then it's actually a pre-AGD product. Tom Kaye produced it; as I recall, the mask was molded like people still mold Kydex for holsters and knife sheaths today. Heated, then either pressed or maybe vacuumed to the "face" mold.
They then cut it out using a CNC mill. As I recall, it was fairly popular, and sold through PMI.
Not long after, of course, TK founded AGD, developed the Automag, and the rest is history.
