    Trade etiquette

What are the normal rules for trading? One person ships first, both ship same time?

Thinking of trying to trade autococker stuff for a phantom but don't wanna get burned.

Round these parts I just ship. People on MCB apologize for needing 2 days to get to the post office. I have yet to have even a single deal go sideways here.

If you are worried you could pay for an intermediary. Someone to receive both packages, verify contents and then ship to destination.

Depends on their feedback and your trust level. Usually lower feedback person ships first, or provides tracking/ shipping confirmation first and you do the immediate after.

I've always rolled with the lower feedback person ships first.

However, just as Trbo323 said, if it's on this forum then I'll just ship as fast as possible. I too have not had a single deal go sour here.

I do simultaneous (or near simultaneous) shipping with tracking and insurance both sides to cover value.

I've never done a trade that wasn't in person before, but a way that I've thought about doing it is that you can agree on a price that both items are worth, then one person pays that amount and once they have received their item the other person sends that amount back and gets their item.

Not as direct as an actual proper trade but it would have less of a chance of getting burned.

Feedback isn't the best gauge - I rarely ask anyone for any despite having a feedback thread going. I think I had around 10 pages worth of feedback on the old MCB, haven't bothered with version 2.0.

Most of my trades haven't worked out very well for me - parts get left out, CBSA decides they need the package more than me, that sort of thing - so unless it's face to face I like to avoid it, or if it's a non-tangible trade, like services rendered for an item (Freaking a Sheridan for example).

And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

I just ship it the same way I would if it was a purchase. So far, I've had no issues....

I've had nothing but great experiences with trades on here. If they are an active member I would ship first, if you don't know them go off feedback I guess or do a middle man as stated above!

Oh and if your gut is telling you something is off, listen to it.

I haven't traded with anyone but send and received a few items on this and the old mcb. I'd say the risk of being scammed is the same with either a trade or a purchase, which is low if you're smart. It's easy enough around here to figure out who is and who isn't trustworthy, many members have bought, sold and given away more stuff than they can remember here. A member with a paying membership or high number of posts is a good sign too.

Haven’t had an issue here. If it’s a regular I wouldn’t worry tho most of my trades were done in the members section. It’s a risk I’m willing to assume. If it’s sketchy deal I just work out a deal an pay with PayPal. Sell whatever it is I don’t want.

High post counts and green usernames are usually a good indicator that the person is safe to trade with. I’ve bought and sold stuff on here for years (more on the old MCB than I have on MCB 2.0) and generally I regard this place as an oasis of honesty and civility in regards to B/S/T. Besides the general good vibes of this place that have always kept me coming back, I think it also has something to do with the fact that so many of the items that people go for around here are situated somewhere within a matryoshka doll of paintball niches. Are you really gonna screw me over on my purchase of 30 year old parts for a Kenimex Scorpion? If you are, man I feel bad for what your life must be like. That kind of thing.
