    Lube for tank regulator

What are safe lubricants to use when servicing tank regulators. Dow 111? I am putting a low pressure kit in my hero 2 reg.

Something sticky and 100% silicone. Dow 111 is the standard. Obvious no oil, petroleum, or liquid.

100% silicone. True Dow 33 is. However A lot of manufacturers Have there own blends of Dow 33 I would be careful not to use any of the ones they put sent in or add a bunch of magical stuff to get you to buy there products. I use a Exalt Vitamin G product I purchased that specifically states it’s good for tank regulators. Only because that is what was available when I needed it at my pro shop. It works great. I like to Service my tank regs often because I have a lot of unregulated setups that require good consistent input pressures to perform.

Dow 111 is what most use.

That’s safe to use I’m 100% sure. I purchased it specifically for servicing my regs. I have been using it for a few years and it works great. The stuff you want to stay away from is like monkey poo where they add stuff to make it smell like bananas. But Dow 33 straight from Dow products is safe to use. It’s the special blends I wouldn’t trust. You just don’t know what they put in it. The Exalt Vitamin G says it’s good for regs that’s why I got it.

Anywhere that you are using lube is at or very close to your output pressure. The way tank regs work theres only one seal that experiences straight tank pressure and it's similar to a regulator seat, not requiring lube.

I've used multiple brands of Dow 33 and have not had any issues
