Empire Sniper Upgrade Suggestions

I’m looking for performance improving upgrades for an Empire Sniper. I have already added the Inception Designs fluted pump guide, CP reg, and a 3D prints pump handle and gripes.

What are you looking to improve? Consistency? Pump stroke? Efficiency? Most of the parts that Inception makes for Empire Snipers are considered top tier.

If you're using the stock regulator, and if it still has the stock reg seat, change it.

I’m not that worried about efficiency, so consistency and pump stroke would be my priority. Also what’s the biggest bang for my buck when it comes to upgrades.

Like William the Third said the reg seat on the stock regulators is crappy, I think you can replace it with a WGP reg seat which is more robust. Consistency is mostly going to be shooting good quality paint and keeping your gun clean, a good HPR can effect it a bit, but not as much as you may think. Pump stroke can be improved by polishing your pump rods and swapping out springs, you could also get a Slice pump kit which could help with the feel. The biggest bang for your buck would probably be springs, they're cheap and can make a huge difference in feel.

The stock reg seat will fail with almost 100% certainty. If you see an Empire Sniper with a dead gauge, it's because the stock reg seat has failed at some point, and sent tank pressure to the valve (which will make getting to velocity impossible).

Inception hammer, It changes the cocking point of the marker so it does not cock with out loading a ball. I have them in stock if your interested.
I also machine the bolt pin slot a bit longer to reduce the hard stop on the back of the body. ends up feeling more squishy on the back end of the stroke.
Depending on the tank reg your using you may want to look into swapping the brass piece in the asa. Ninja ball valve regs have a flat face that ends up cutting the flow off.

Wait, so the Inception hammer has the lug in a different place? I didn't know this. I've always used ShockTech hammers.

no not particularly, although the inception trident bolts may be better for auto triggering based on the size of the inlet. I haven't tried one though.

I tried for a while to get rid of the empire sniper fart. Changed springs with ccm springs. Also got the guide rod and a custom handle (not to fix the fart) Never fixed the fart and only got a super buttery light pump... Oh well.

Also as an interesting point this is the only gun I had a problem with ninja regulator. It seats too well and you need to unscrew the tank a bit for it to work.

In my book the empire sniper is not only the best value but close to equal to any other sniper variant when set up well.

i think the inception pump kit and a ccm hammer maybe whole lower tube does it in addition to replacing the reg seat, which I didn’t know about because I never end up with the stock reg (which I would keep if I had it)

the stock ball detents and bolt setup feel very draggy though. I wish there was a good non O ring bolt made specifically for it. Just for pump feel.

delrin non O rings like Palmer used in their stuff might fix the stock bolt, if you could make some out of a Delrin tube

[mention]Cunha [/mention] thanks for the input. I only paid $175 for my sniper, because a kid couldn’t figure out what all was wrong with it. Ended up just needing the pump guide, a new pump handle, and some blue loctite on the valve screw.

The inception hammer is going to be the biggest bang for the buck in terms of actually making the gun shoot better. In addition to what BW said it's a bit heavier iirc which should require less main spring, thus a lighter pump stroke.

I'll echo what a couple others have said- the Inception hammer is hands-down the best upgrade for the Empire Sniper & Resurrection. It fixes the cocking point, which causes more problems with the Resurrection than the Sniper, but it's still a good thing to have. Like uglyduckling said, it's heavier. When the IVG is flush with the rear of the body (with the Inception hammer installed) it should shoot right around 280-285 FPS with a good bore match & regulator setting.

That was my experience as well. IVG flush vs several turns in with the stock hammer.It also gave the internals a very satisfying low pitch noise with each shot, hard to describe but I really enjoyed.it

I've always been more of a Nelson guy than a Sheridan guy (though I love brass), but a buddy of mine let me borrow his Sniper one time to play a pump only day, and it was the absolute smoothest thing I've ever shot. You could rack it one-armed back and forth, and it would cock it just fine.

My buddy had a ShockTech Phat hammer, and ShockTech SupaFly bolt in it, as well as a CCM pump kit. It farted when it shot, and it probably wasn't the most efficient, but that pump stroke was unbelievable.

Ever since then, I've used Phat hammers in all of my Autocockers.
