Ninja Flex Regulator

Anyone try the Ninja Flex reg out? What the overall impression of it? How is the consistency?

Was thinking of getting one and hooking it up to a caped classic automag.

I don't understand the appeal of the flex. Unless I'm missing something (which I'll admit is possible as I haven't done a lot of looking at them) really the only advantage over their standard adjustable regs is that you don't need to remove the bonnet to make adjustments. If I was reading right you still need to drain the tank and now you need a special tool as well

The mark up seems insane for the ability to leave the bonnet on.

No it's adjustable with pressure in it. You have to drain the output if you are decreasing the pressure.

I purchased one back in the holiday seasons hoping I can gain 3 raffle tickets, sell off my regulator off my sniper to compensate and win big. I didn’t win the raffle and kept the regulator on the sniper. So that’s the drama part.

Right now mine is set at 600psi and is holding steady. It comes with a larger that usual mini gauge for the regulated output which is easy to read.

My original intention was to have one tank that can go through all the pressures. I have some Tippmanns that can cycle (but not reliably) at 600psi but work awesome at 850psi. And I was hoping to ditch the regulators off my 98 (works fine at 500-600psi) and 2k5 snipers (and use it at 350psi). I have heard there are versions that can get up to a 1000psi which I believe is better for ‘Mags.

Ninja has great customer service. After a day or so of use, the regulator output would not stay stable. I worked with Dalton on a rebuild and couldn’t get it right. So I sent it in and Ninja sent it back (they paid for return postage and included magnetic inlet nipple cover and outlet thread saver) which was bonus for the trouble. Dalton mentioned to de-gas more often when taking the pressure from high to low, as I must’ve put too much stress on not quite broken in regulator.

You definitely need the tool to adjust the collar when under pressure (or it can still be done by hand with some struggle a bit at a time).

I’m happy with it going from 600psi (spools) and going back and forth to 850psi (sear trippers). I haven’t used it as much at the original planned 350psi (no point now as I plan to keep the front regulators on the sniper).

I do like the length, it’s like having a regulator extender, which is awesome for the 45/4500 tank that it’s on.

I think if I didn’t demo and test so many paintball makers, you can live with a fixed 850psi tank. But I think the Flex reg is handy for my recball, paintball gear as a hobby, needs.
