Pre-2k Cocker Banjo Bolts Issues

I’m playing around with some of my pre-2k bodies and was looking at add a recently acquired expansion chamber. The issue I am having is I cannot thread the expansion chamber to my approx ‘92 body, but it works fine in my approx ‘96 body. The original banjo bolt fits fine on both bodies though.

Every time I try to install it on the ‘92 it gets very tight and feels like it will cross thread. I don’t want to force it and wreck anything.

Any ideas? Looks like I will swap the bodies (the are the same, just different serial number).

It won't even start in the 92 body? If that's the case I'd assume it's just differences in tolerances. If it will thread in but gets tight part way down I'd assume the banjo threads in the body are shorter or maybe don't bottom out.

That's an ans lpc... Could be miss cut.

But goes it smooth with the ‘96. I think Toestr is right, tolerances are off. The standard original banjo feels a little loose in the ‘96.

I pulled the other banjo bolt I have and it’s the same issue on the ‘92. It threads better, but still gets tight. Guess it’s just an anomaly. I’ll make sure to keep the proper banjo with that body.

If you want to chase the threads or cut them deeper into the body, it's 3/8"-24 fine thread.
