    Knee Pad Skin Protection?

I think it is safe to assume that many members wear knee pads like myself, but how about wearing something underneath the pads for abrasion protection? I find that in the warmer months when I'm not wearing thermal legging under my pads I get pretty bad chaffing. In previous years, I've used different types of medical tape but that really hurts to remove as it tends to pull hair off. I've search online and there seems to be many options for knee sleeves, but the only specific under pad style sleeves are meant for skateboard knee pads (knee gaskets). Has anyone found a solution that has worked for them?

This has happened with multiple types of paintball knee pads. Maybe I need to try some higher quality pads made for a different activity. What would you recommend?

I wore these under my motocross knee braces. Sounds like it might work for what you're looking for.

The planet eclipse knee pads have a neoprene sleeve liner thingy that seems to be pretty comfy.

Now these seem like a perfect solution! Do you know if they are sold in pairs or individually?

I wear volleyball knee pads under my bdu woodland pants, and I get no chaffing......and I have some knee hair. Let me know if you need photographic proof?

wait.....knee hair pics might go the way of the foot pics on second thought.....

I'll pass on the photographic proof. Quite a generous offer though.

Something that worked well for me was to choose softball pads that are all soft, no plates or anything. I wear them under my pants and they meet at the bottom of the slider shorts. They don't move around that way.

Just in case you were curious, the brand I used is 'Trace'. I got them (as well as my slider shorts) from a local sports supply out of the baseball section. Things marketed towards paintball are marked up significantly with often little to no improvement or difference in design from other sports hardware.

I use those cheap hex basketball knee pads that cost $20/pair at Walmart. I love them. Light, under armor type material, and they stay in place well.

I've switched over the HydraFit knee pads, from the old DYE & PE ones. All day play the back of my knees are much better, possibly because they cover the whole back, instead of having straps. They don't look like they have as much padding, but I've had no issues with crawling in bramble/rocks with them, or dropping to my knees from a stand. As a bonus, they offer more support to the knee cap, as they are designed like knee support with pads. They don't move all day.

As a side note, any of the pants/tights with prefit knee pads rely on you having "standard" inseam knee locations, if you are long/short legged, you have have shin/thigh pads instead.....

I've been thinking about trying those for the kilt-wearing season. Do the sizes seem pretty true to their website measurements? Also did you get the classic or the hydra black?

I got the CRBN protective bottoms and they’re pretty nice. Nothing moves around at all and no chafing issues.
