I was putting together a Tippmann 98 last night and when I went to install the airline I was turning it at the ASA and to my surprise the hose turned between the wrench flats and the crimp on the valve side. That hose ended up having a leak, so I tried again with another hose and it did the same thing. Is this a feature that I've just never known about, or a defect/oddity? Both hoses ended up leaking (not sure exactly where from), is this something that could have damaged them?

There are braided hose fittings that are able to swivel. I used to make them up but they tend to have higher failure rates then fixed fittings so I only did them when it was necessary for building a compressed gas setup (I used to build pneumatic test stands as part of my work).
