What do you'll use on gear you picked up that smells. Likely being in storage for years or put away with some paint still on it.

Could be soft goods or hard gear. Sprays, wipes or what.

Put it in a box and blow ozone in.
takes care of mildew by killing/disinfecting it and get reed of the stench. Also remove smoke/cigarette smell 👍

I have a steam cycle on my washer and a sanitize setting on my dryer. Things usually come out nicely. Surprisingly I don’t get a lot of soft goods.

Yup, good old soap and water. If it can go in the washing machine even easier, if it can't go into the washer then the dish washer is another option.
