    Best cheap poppit electro?

I have space in my marker assortment for one more and I'm considering a cheap poppit valve electro. What is the best bang for the buck that I can likely find used? Dangerous Power? Etek?

I'd grab an original Empire Axe. They are inexpensive, efficient, and low maintenance. If you don't like the grip to foregrip spacing, add a foregrip extender and you are good to go.

Dangerous Power is a fine little gun. I have a Mini that I like; only problem with those is the solenoids tend to give out. I think it would be the same solenoid on the Axe, by the way.

Admittedly, the solenoid is a weak spot on the Axe.

Seconding Danger Power, people I know are always very happy with them. Price is dirt cheap... I am curious if they're still in business though..

Can't go wrong with an Axe either, also an excellent choice.

The "new" jt impulse (is the 09 one poppet valve?)kevin qmto has a great video about them and could probably help you out.

Always likes DP as well. Owned a Threshold and. Rev-I. Good quality, worked well and great bang for the buck.

The ego/etek line have been great markers but likely doesn't compete in the cheap category.

Considered something from ICD. Also from that era, have been considering an Intimidator.

Maybe try ICD? They are pretty hit or miss. I bought a Promaster for $60 CAD locally. Only things they really needs are new regs. If you get the ones with good parts, you won't need to replace anything.

DP boards can be squirrelly but they're pretty tough, otherwise.

The ICD Promaster is nice but the frame/ board layout (clamshell) annoys me.

An older Cyborg won't ever be cheap, but is in the Etek price range with better performance.

There are a couple others, like the Infinity Legend, CYP Nemesis, etc.

Eclipse makes good stuff though. A different world than DP or even ICD.

I second Bushys/BKOs. As long as the HPR is/was changed out they're pretty solid & readily available for under 100 bucks. Electronics are rock solid. The only thing I don't care for is they have a lot of screws, making them time-consuming to take apart. Otherwise they are great markers for the price.

I think that's got a lot to do with people liking to turn the thing on and clicking the noid a bazillion times... tends to be hard on armatures. And... solenoids get the blame for problems often caused by poor maintenance or a lack of understanding how a marker operates.

Not saying this is the case with you, just something I see often.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: β€œI shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

β€œBut Lord,” asked Gabriel, β€œIs this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, β€œJust wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

I think it's a genuine issue with the Mini. I've killed one, and the second is getting sticky. I got it moving again last weekend with a new battery but it doesn't take too long for a new on to start getting finicky

The good news is they are cheap, around $30, so it's not a big deal to keep a spare even after the warranty expires. Overall I like the gun a lot

The JT impulse and Eclipse Etek5 are both great poppets for the money!

If you're looking for a cheap tournament style poppet, I'd recommend an Etek3 or 4. They're fantastic markers and very similar to each other, although the ASA on the 4 is more ergonomic. Their only drawback is that they're loud, but I think all cheap poppets would be loud. You can usually find them for $150-250 depending on specifics.
