Freak bore barrel and Nelson style pump gun design

I am working on a stock class pistol project and often I see comment on freak bored barrel on a Nelson type pump that would cause some issue and pull the insert.

Is this an issue with the R7 and can we make a list of marker that will cause this issue and list of marker that is OK to use standard style freak insert bore (withiut using a custom barrel)?

My project is this R7 and before I ano match everything I want to confirm it. The barrel is cocker to cocker back and match the diameter of the body.

The ano will be dust green (probably neon green) or dust gun metal grey amd will most likely have a custom 3d printed slide and feed on it.

Should be fine, my R7 was freak bored and i had no issues. Then again.. i only shot maybe 500 rounds thru her before it was trade for a duck.

It all depends how the bolt interacts with the breach and barrel. If you look at most carters the bolt goes slightly into the barrel, that's why the barrel or insert has a "lip". Without the lip the bolt will pull the insert out!

This isn't a problem with the R7. Many stock R7 barrels came freak bored (mine included). I could be wrong, but it strikes me that this is mostly a problem limited to Carters.

Here is the "lip" on a Carter insert.

This is a potential issue on any marker where the bolt enters the barrel.
If you are using a breach drop marker it is not a problem.

Also, if you squish the insert a tiny bit, it adds friction when the barrel forces it back round.

Freak bored barrels on an R7 are perfectly fine with no worries about the insert being pulled out. The R7 has a separate breech area just before the barrel that prevents the inserts from being pulled. Be aware that this area is where the ball sometimes get hung up and can cause the paint to explode.... Yours looks like a third gen model so this might not be so much of an issue but I know on the 1st and 2nd gen models they were problems and this was an area that Mr MCB himself discovered
