    Azodin KP3 low velocity

    Hey all,

I recently bought a KP3. When I received it leaked down the barrel. I changed all the orings and the leak is gone but the velocity is at 120 (even after I turn up the rear velocity).

I am going to make sure everything is tight/ put together correctly.

in the meantime, I just wanted to see if this has ever happened to anyone else? I have heard of KP3s spiking to 400+ fps.

    thanks !

Sounds to me like a regulation issue. Have you tried cleaning and relubing your regulator? It could be spiking and choking the valve or set to low and not getting enough click clack pew.

After you insure it’s together properly I would check the reg.

Do you have a way of testing it for output pressure?

Operating pressure is fairly low on those like 230psi I bet your reg is just set to high may have been your issue in the first place. Back the IVG out to like 2 turns in from all the
way out and try adjusting the reg till you get it close to field speed. If it’s still wonky the reg may need a lube/ rebuild.

the reg seat is pretty soft on a kp3 and can be damaged if you arent careful. don't increase reg pressure while gun is aired up, ive seen this trash more than one kp3 reg seat degas first. once it is damaged it won't regulate at all.

If it’s your reg seat they have replacements for like $2 at Azodin, I would order extra. Looks like it’s a common problem that can be avoided if you know that about them. I certainly did not but it explains why you see a lot of them with replacement regs. Seems like a pain to get setup if you got to degass it each time but when you get it set you really shouldn’t have to touch it after that.

i learned the hard way on mine, turned reg up a bit , next shot reg seat bits flew out lol. they should have just preset them and been done with it. they are actually decent regs if you don't mess with them.

I took the regulator off a Azodin KP and put it on the kp3. I did not chrono, but it was very fast. I’m guessing 400. I assume the reg seat busted. How do I fix this ?

If your paying for shipping I would get a hand full so you got em. Pick the old one out fat side up and superglue them in.

if it is a rock steady reg they use this seat instead this is the reg that my kp3 uses

seal cant be replaced without swapping out whole adjuster, seal held in place by a press fit brass cap

The red Azodin regulator seats can be upgraded with black Dye regulator seats which are supposed to be tougher.

                That the same size?
This let you adjust them under pressure?

I like the way the KP3 shoots it’s the first I’m hearing about the reg seat issue. I know the early KP regs were less than desirable, but I thought the new ones were pretty decent.
