Keeping pods cool?

Last time I went to the local field in August 30 minutes in the sun had my APP pods uncomfortably warm to touch, I have to assume extended periods of this condition would be detrimental to my paint, any suggestions how to combat this? I was thinking IR reflective tape but maybe the MCB hive mind has better ideas.

Just avoiding dark-colored pods helps a ton. A lot of guys don't like the idea of white, blue, red, orange, or pink pods in the woods though. A tan colored pod or even transparent smoke grey will help. Spray painting your pods is an option if you have some specialty APP pods that can't be imitated by a competing product.

If you’re thinking of new pods I use smoke GxG pods. Those seem to be OK in the heat & they’re decent quality for the price.

I say just keep them in the shade. Even a little shade can really save your ammo. If there’s no trees, canopy tents, etc. then put them in a box & set them in a shadow somewhere around your vehicle or under a table. Had this happen a while back when I left my Rotor out in the sun & the paint began to sweat to the point I thought I had a break inside. Leaned it up against a car tire in the shade throughout the rest of the day. Problem solved.

In California, most of us keep our paint in a big ice chest with a couple of the blue ice freezer packs in it. The packs keep it cool, without adding moisture.
Also since multiple people are in and put of the ice chest all day, it just keeps it cooled down so the paint and pods stay chilled throughout the day.
We also keep it under a E-Z Up shade or table throughout the day.

The cooler is a good idea. A EZ up canopy is a must-have, keeps you and your gear cool in between rounds

Coolers with a Cool Pak or something similar are the way to go if you're playing a tournament or rec games with lots of visits to your staging. It is good for extra paint back at camp at a big game or scenario as well, but sometimes you'll be on the field for hours non-stop in those situations. Be prepared to the idiots complaining that you are freezing your paint

Yeah I don't tend to keep a large amount of paint in the staging area actually more concerned with the pods on my belt. Probably go with white/clear/tan as suggested and see how that goes, hot weather is over for now anyway

I'm not the only one! I keep pods in my cooler on those 30°+ Celsius days with 100% humidity. I guess thats like 500 degrees Fahrenheit or something?

And ya, I've had guys comment on how freezing the balls is cheating, or how they had a friend that froze balls. One guy said it would shrink the size of my balls and I'd be shooting hot in the afternoon...
