Strangely shaped foam? Maybe for masks?

Does anyone recognize this foam? It’s in my mask parts bin, feels kind of like the wetex stuff, but the shape is all wrong.

one set is thicker than the other.

Looks like the foam that goes inside bike helmets or Baseball helmets.

That is exactly what it looks like. Thanks!

Maybe a potential new source for DIY wetex.

You talking about the old JT style Wetex? I feel like that foam is a bit more dense an thinner.

I want to try D3O foam sheets. Laser cut them to a flex profile some sort of durable fabric for comfort at the skin contact side. You could probably do ears out of it too. It absorbs kinetic energy like crazy. Basically all protective gear is going to this material. It hardens on impact but remains soft and flexible. I’m curious what would happen if you made an under shirt out of it like those “protective” bounce shirts. I’m curious how thick it would need to be to stop paint from breaking. Check out the product testing videos on YouTube. It’s super trick!

Have this in my hockey helmet. Seems like good material.
