Black Magic reg question. PB Tek's video shows the shim stack as 7 shims from the reg (Ergo) but my BM reg has 8. He says to put them like ()()()( Should I just do that and toss the 8th? Or do ()()()()

I have found different amounts of springs in different WGP regs from the factory over the years (and other small variations in materials and finishes). I assume due to varying spring strength in manufacture and material availability.
Test your pressures with 7 (or eight) if you are hitting good pressure ranges then I wouldn't worry about it and just keep it as received.-
Makes sense. Do I have the shim positions correct as ()()() and so on? I've also seen someone say )()()()( -
I usually put an open end down towards the bottom. But I don't know that it actually matters. My thinking is that the open end should provide more stability and less wear with more surface area hitting the aluminum surface.
