    Pod Packs

My PBJunkies pack is on its last legs. Maybe a year left so I figured it's time to start poking around.

I usually only wear a pack for big games and scenarios, never really carry more than 3 or 4 pods max. My habit is to put pods back in the pack when I use them.

What on the market now are people using that I should take a look at?

Well made, fat guy friendly and lower back pads.

Honestly it's a pack for 30+ players lol

I have an HK ZeroG I really like. I was always against strapless packs until I tried this one. You can change the tension on each pod so as it breaks in and loosens up you can make it new again by tightening up the pod loops. I ended up with a 5+ for 10man /big games but they make a 3+ and a 4+

I would stay away from Dye they were always my go to but my last pack only lasted a few days play before it started ripping at the seams. Dye did replace it and the new one has been better but they are not making them like they use to. You can tell just by looking at them.

The Under packs are nice as well.

On your comment about putting pods back. I only ask because the video (small same size I know) I watched for the Carbon harnesses looked like it took both hands to get a pod into the harness.

With the ZeroG each pod loop tension can be adjusted. You can easily slide them right back in the pack and you don’t have to worry about the strap being in the way. If it’s to tight you can always take the pack off and adjust the tension on the pod to how you like it. Main thing is you need pods with good lids. If your lids are worn or beat you don’t have the strap to hold them closed. I use mine to play 10man and I’m really happy with it. Even fully loaded with pods it don’t bounce and stays tite.

I like the bunker King Fly pack myself, its plenty big enough with nice wide belt, lots of elastic and Velcro. Its a strapless harness and can carry a lot of pods.

Any trouble getting empty pods back in during play?

I think any of the new packs are easy to get the pods back in. As long as you run standard 140 pods. The BK packs are nice too.

I have an Exalt 4+ whatever pack and they're rare for some reason but definitely made for smaller people. I only carry 2 pods though so I'm also looking at finding something smaller. Bunker Kings has a strapless 2 pod pack I've been able to track down I'm probably going to get.

I'm not super experienced with different packs, but I like my HK Army Eject. It has straps for the tubes (I don't like the idea of strapless), but they go back in fairly easily. If anything, you can always cut off one or both elastic loops if they're hard to put back in.
What I like is how secure it is. It doesn't bounce around much, if at all, when I'm running. It has two main waist straps plus two more short ones on the outside for a final tightening. There's also a large pad in the middle of the back. And they can be had in a 3+ configuration, which is nice for me because I usually only take 3 tubes with me at any time.
I don't care for HK's branding & I've heard multiple accounts of their soft goods not holding up, but this pack has been good to me for the few times a year I play.

EDIT: Here's what it is. https://www.hkarmy.com/collections/e...39999609765958

You can still get M Packs from topstitch.

I have 2 that I got used over a decade ago from one of the guys that played on the CCM team.

        The durability is superb.

I picked up a virtue breakout strapless pack because i wanted to try strapless, and when I bought it, it was the only one were I found a review that described it as relatively easy to put pods back in (I use it for scenario games, etc). I like it, it's comfortable, and doesn't seem to need any adjustments. And yes, you can jam the pods back into the pack one handed after loading without any trouble.

I use a zodiac pack, idk if they are being made anymore I think it was a team thing, it's not strapless but it doesn't use velcro either it has straps that slide under the pod and and the typical elastic strap at the top adds the tension to keep then in, very very well made pack
